Wow, what a day, or days, or night, or something. I can't really remember. It is now 7:30AM. I think I woke up at about 7PM today after having gone to bed at around 11AM after the Silverstone F1 race, which I stayed up to watch. Does that make sense? So I just got done adding a bunch more crap to this site for you to look at! The first is in "The Gallery" and in "Stuff Mike Owns" (under "Home Made Stuff"). In there you'll find my speakers that I just finished making this week! They're very cool, and I'm very happy with them so check those out! I also spent all night (or day or whatever) working on some PHP to display info about my main PC system onto this website. With the help of my friend, CS NERD W/HAT, I got some PHP now running to show some useless stats! On the "Main Page" you'll be able to see how much I've downloaded since I started keeping track today. I think it'll be cool to see exactly how much on average I download in a month, etc. But, the even bigger nerds can click on "view dynamic pc stats" to view a page about what is happening with my computer at that exact second! There's CPU, memory and disk usage as well as network usage, etc. Very cool! The information comes through SNMP which I have running on my OS now and is pulled by using the SNMP library for PHP which is running on my server computer next to me. It's a fairly complicated little thing for what it is, and it took a lot of time to do, but I think it's kind of cool. I can't really remember much of what happened this week. I do remeber watching "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" on Saturday, which was amazing as always. I think earlier that day Hayley, Joe, Dave and I all went to the UofW campus. Joe and I are attempting to model the whole campus as a map in Raven Shield so we went there to take a few basic measurements and take pictures for some test textures and such. It's going to be one of the most intense projects ever if it gets rolling, but it seems to be very fun and challenging so far. 3D modelling is completely new to me, and some of the concepts are a little hard to understand, but I'm liking it a lot! I'll try to have at least something done next week, and I'll try and post some pictures. My mind is blown that it is almost August already!! Wow. I was under the impression that July had just started!!! What in the fuck?? A few nights ago, Joe and I decided to go riding around with my RF Scanner to see what we could hear. We parked the bicycles infront of a few small apartment buildings by the riverfront and heard a guy suggest to a girl that if she shaves her pussy, he'll eat it out. She giggled. Classic. Also a few days ago, someone messaged me and asked if I had registered for my classes yet. I was under the impression that last year my registration date wasn't until August and this year would be no different. Wrong. I guess my registration date was July 12th, which means I had to pick some classes fast! So, I registered in 3 again. Part time is where it's at so much. It's about $1000 cheaper and enables me to sleep a lot more. Of course, only one of those classes has anything to do with my major, and the other two are just fucking useless first and second year classes from random departments that I could care less about. That doesn't make sense to me at all, but I guess it's the University way. I'm MAJORING in Computer Science and they have barely taught anything, and now I have to take a bunch of other random classes? God forbid they make me take more Computer Science classes and actually have me know something about Computer Science when I graduate. Instead, they'd rather me know a few things about Computer Science, and then a small little bit about fucking Women's Studies, Communications, General Science, Psychology, Sociology and whatever the fuck else they teach there. I'm sure having taken fucking "Astronomy I" is going to be the difference between me getting hired instead of someone else. "Sorry, We'd love to hire you Johnny, but Mike here also has a degree in Computer Science AND he took Introduction to Economics as one of his electives". I mean, obviously it's the way University is set up, and I did know that before going in. But, I do have to say it is quite stupid. Instead of just complaining, I'll offer a solution: The 2 Year Basic Degree. It's the same as the regular degree, but without all the extra useless shit. Sure it won't be as profitable for the University, but they can just charge more for books or something. If anyone watched the F1 race on Sunday, it was quite nuts. Some guy ran onto the track wearing a kilt waving around signs that said something I couldn't read. I can't find any websites mentioning it, but the TSN news said that it was a Religious Protest. They said that the guy was mad that the Bible wasn't getting enough media attention. I'll do my best to not get worked up for two paragraphs in a row, but I mean come on. Bible not getting enough attention, so run onto a fucking race track with cars doing 200KM/H and fuck up the whole race. If I was part of this religion, this would really make me think twice. "Hmm.. maybe I shouldn't associate myself with something that people are jumping onto race tracks for". I guess the same could be said for anything though, as there are plenty of worse things that have made people do stupider shit. Imagine being in one of the cars though, coming around the corner full speed... 200KM/H.. religious wacko on the middle of the track in a kilt! Yikes.. Anyways, I'm really tired of looking at this computer screen.. time to go to bed! Peace out... |
