Sorry it took so long to update, I was afraid that my computer had the Y2k3 virus, so I shut it down around new years. I also unplugged everything just to be safe, I didn't want my fish tank blowing up or my stereo playing the wrong track on a CD because of rounding-errors. Imagine what the toaster would do if thought the year was 1903 instead of 2003... how is it going to toast bread that isn't even going to exist for another 100 years? If I lived in a normal room, I don't think this would be much of a problem. Like, I'm sure the telephone system wouldn't be affected by Y2k3, since it's a pretty old invention. But, I gotta be safe. I have 3 computers in here!! I don't want to be in a room where things are in different centuries at the same time. I mean, that would have to create some sort of universal paradox, and I don't want to be responsible for creating a rift in the space-time continuum. So, that's why I didn't update the webpage earlier. Anyways, school started for me yesterday. I went to my class for about 15, and started to get realy mad. The class is "Networking (Something or other)" and I had the same teacher a year ago for some silly Internet class that isn't required, and a decent amount of non C.S. Majors take it because it's fairly easy. Anyways, the teacher started talking about really basic internet stuff, the same stuff that he taught me a year ago in the other class. So after 15 minutes, I gave good look around and noticed about 10 girls in the class! Cute ones too!! I -must- be in the wrong class... So I took an elevator up to the C.S. office and checked out the class schedules. Sure enough, the class I'm supposed to be in is on the other side of campus! So, I walk over and go to my proper class only to notice ALL the seats have been taken. So, I take a seat on one of the stairs until finally a seat was free. THen I realized that I told The Chief to meet me in the other class room when his class is done, so I can get a ride home!! Since I don't know when his class will get done, much like Nelly and/or Kelly, I'm in some sort of a Dilemma. So, after a good hour or so of listening to the teacher mumble about stuff, I decided to take off and try to find The Chief before he leaves and I have to take the bus home. As soon as I go outside, who is walking right towards me? The Chief. He was going into the same building to check some marks! So, I declared it was fate and went straight home instead of staying for the remaining 2 hours of class. That was my first day of school. This whole Christmas Break thing was totally amazing on so many levels, even though I don't know what "levels" stuff can even be on, the phraze just seems appropriate. I quickly resorted to my natural schedule of going to bed at 7AM and waking up at 6PM. It's as though my Saccadian Rhythm is played by a high-school Punk Band, it slows down and speeds up randomly. Since I don't have a "Real Job", I didn't have to work at all during the break, so there was loads and loads of hangin' to be done. Christmas was really strange, really strange. I tried to get to bed all night, and spent at least 8 hours laying in bed without sleep. By the time I was getting close to sleeping, my parents were up banging pots and shit around. So, I got up and did Christmas things. Then Hayley came over and we exchanged our gifts of love. No, not sex... unfortunately. I got Hayley some big-ass cookbook, and I made her this big basket with cooking related gadgets and essentials. Boy did I feel stupid making a "basket", infact I even feel weird saying the word. But, chicks dig that stuff, am I wrong? I mean, who knows more about chicks than me (aside from Shaggy)? The good thing about the cookbook/basket present is that it makes her happy, but it also gets her cooking. So, when I come home from a hard day at the office, she can have all sorts of fancy food waiting for me. Seeeeee?? Hayley got me arguably one of the coolest bf-to-gf presents (No, not sex again), an 80GIG Seagate harddrive!! I totally wanted one, but I didn't expect that she'd get it for me, since it's just a rectangular hunk of metal, y'know? Not that I expected some lame Candle or something, but I just didn't picture her handing me a hunk of metal for my computer. But she did! She wrapped it all up really nice in a box that she made in the shape of a big pyramid! After exchanging gifts I was totally ready to go to bed, since I had been up for about 30 hours. Instead Hayley dragged me to her Aunt's house for her family's Christmas celebration. When I got there I was greeted with trays of sausage and cheese, and all sorts of other little snacks! Score! Also, some little kid got a PS2 for Christmas along with Gran Turismo 3! I heard him talkin' some trash, so I went over to inspect. He challenged me to a race, so I took the controller and played dumb. He selected the track and cars, showed me which buttons did which, and off we went! Little did he know that I've played many hours of GT3, and even had a club at the University devoted to the game. Needless to say, he got smoked. He then claimed that his dad could beat me, and got his dad to sit down to challenge me. Of course, right infront of Junior, I smoked his dad by a lap. Dissed and Dismissed. In your face Junior! After I finished taunting the kid, we took off and I finally got to sleep. Thankfully it snowed a few times, which meant I was able to go Toboganning!! Aw yes! Pinko Joe and I rode our bikes there a few hours after a pretty big snow storm and did some intense toboganning. The bike ride was intense as hell, thankfully I took off my slicks and put on some knobby tyres. The toboganning was great, but my neck is still a little tweaked because of it. I added two new things to the "Media" section, feel free to check it out. There's also a couple new things on the "Main Page" since I had nothing to do last night and redid it in PHP. I'll be adding new Polls on the main page every week or so for kicks. By all means, participate in them! I'm also planning on adding a little Comment/Feedback sort of thing on this page, so you can comment on the "Weekly Rambling" or whatever. If you see it below, I already added it. Otherwise I'm sleeping. Peace out. Hope everyone had fun holidays! |
