Revo
After getting people together to help do weird cover songs live on a radio show I was doing at CJAM called "The Jim Show", I wanted to see if I could do a whole album live. The album I picked was Devo's "Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are DEVO!". which I was obsessed with at the time and had already learned how to play a lot of. So I got some friends together and we all started learning the album from start to finish. I played guitar, Dave Dupuis sang, Joel Janisse played bass, Mark Trudell played Guitar and Pat Power played Drums. All the equipment and stuff for the band was too much to fit into the small CJAM studio, so we only played a few songs acoustic on the radio. On August 22nd 2002, we played the full album live at The Press Club in Windsor. After that, we learned a few more songs and played a few more shows. The band was scheduled to play at the 2003 DEVOtional conference in Akron Ohio, but we couldn't make it.
This Not This E.P. (June 2nd 2003)
Recorded over a few weeks, this was originally going to be just one song but turned into four. It was meant as a "promo" type recording, to hand out to magazines, venues, and other media fatcats. I shipped off all the copies of this to be handed out at the 2003 DEVOtional, and one of the songs appeared on a compilation CD made for the conference. The first 3 songs were multitracked on an 8 track minidisk recorder, and the 4th song was recorded live off the (basement) floor.
